Q: how hard is the meteorite rings?
The Meteorite itself is a composition of iron, nickel, and other trace elements. It is
very strong. The precious metal band inside is hand forged around it in an anti-clastic
form. This type of form in itself is very strong. With the two of these together, the ring
is very durable. For people who are rough on jewelry, I would definitely recommend the
platinum inner band or the 18K gold.
Q: how do they wear over time? Will the copper mokume rings tarnish?
Depending on what you do with your hands (think computer program versus homebuilder),
you can expect the patterned etch of the meteorite to become somewhat "softer".
This will take several years, and may never be a problem. The meteorite and the precious
metal are thick, and both the meteorite and the precious metal parts will give many years
of service. If the pattern does wear, you are welcome to contact me and I will re-etch the
pattern for you.
The Mokume rings are a slightly different story. Any of the rings that contain copper
are relatively soft. Over time, they will wear, and also may have a tendency to slightly
etch. (the copper will ever-so-slightly etch, leaving the silver slightly higher (less
than a tenth of a millimeter). Any of the non-copper mokumes are stronger, and last much
longer. The copper will patina through a wide variety of shades, depending on your
bodys chemistry, how often you wash your hands, the soap you use, and other
environmental concerns. The real beauty of the copper mokume is that it will constantly
"evolve". It truly is a magic material!
Some people may experience a reaction to the copper that will stain skin slightly
(usually green). All of the mokume rings I make include a precious metal lining to prevent
this.
Q: Can you do engraving?
Depending upon the width of the ring, yes. Generally, 4mm and above can be engraved.
Please inquire.
Q: Can the Meteorite or Mokume rings be resized?
The mokume rings can be sized both up or down. If sizing up, it may require a small
piece of slightly different patterned mokume to be used. The meteorite rings can be
slightly enlarged. If your meteorite or mokume ring needs re-sizing, I will gladly take
your ring back in trade against a new ring for you.
Q: Can you do a comfort fit?
The meteorite ring is comfot fit. Some of the Mokume Gane rings are comfort
fit. The comfort fit style is an option on many of the other ring designs,
please inquire if you are not sure.
Q: I want to purchase a diamond from you but I want to see it first, can this be
done?
Yes. Upon payment to furthers.com, I will contact you directly for your criteria, and
then send a stone to you for approval. If I purchase a stone based on your guidelines and
you dont purchase it from me, there will be a $300 dollar or 10% verification fee,
whichever is less. After the stone is verified, your money less the fee will be refunded.
Of course, if you wish a different stone (size, shape, color, cut, clarity), you would not
be charged the fee, you would just incur shipping charges back to me for the stone to be
set.
Q: How long do the rings take to make?
I strive to get your ring to you within 2-3 weeks of your finalized order. Around
certain holidays, the delay can be slightly longer.

I will gladly re-size for a fee. If I shipped the wrong size, I will resize at my expense.
